PGA National is home to the PGA Tour’s Honda Classic where this year, Michael Thompson put on a short game clinic en route to victory. Down the road, PGA National owns a course called The Estates, which hosted a Golfslinger.com Tour 2-day event over the past two days. The normally player-friendly, par 72 Estates course bared it’s teeth as a par 71 with chilly 25 mph winds cutting across the holes. I managed my way around the course well with a two day total of 140 (71-69) and finished tied for 3rd, 4 shots back of the winner. Today was highlighted by wind piercing drives including a 360 yard bomb that left me with an eagle putt on the par 4, 17th. This marks my 4th top-5 finish in my past 5 events and my 6th straight top-10 finish. My game is becoming more consistent with every event and my confidence under pressure is strengthening. I’ve come a long way this month and I believe a win is imminent, it’s just a matter of continuing to improve every day and compete as much as possible.
I also look forward to introducing two new exciting sections of my website in the coming month with contributing editors!
Stay tuned!
